As social media continues to grow and become a powerhouse tool for businesses to market to consumers, being able to create content that keeps consumers engaged is important. Short-form videos have been recently found to be the most engaging type of content on social media for users. What is a short-form video? Short-form videos are video content under 60 seconds. This content is becoming the most engaging and effective content on various social media platforms.

Video content is growing as social media continues to grow. Consumers are interested in learning more about hobbies and interests as well as learning something new from short-form videos. Videos can deliver the message more effectively to consumers while keeping them more interested. Using short-form videos to market your business allows you to be able to tell your company’s story better and connect to the audience better. Not only does using short-form videos in your content engage consumers but it also helps with other aspects like brand awareness, and SEO, and gives more variety to your content! Having the ability to show the voice of your company better is effective in engaging with consumers on social media and is important to humanize your brand.

Make sure the content you create will resonate with the consumer by being entertaining, funny, or teaching them something new. Brainstorm many ideas that will strategically pull your audience in and turn possible consumers into loyal consumers. Making sure you use the same voice as your brand is important to keep in your video content as well. When using social media to share your videos with the audience you can get your audience involved too. Using user-generated content allows your audience to join in and engage while helping create brand awareness for your brand. This has helped many brands like Home Depot or fabric stores where consumers show off their DIY projects.

Social media has trends in what is hot and entertaining users that change frequently. Keeping up with social media trends can elevate your content if it suits your brand and message to consumers. Not all trends are something that would fit with your brand so take advantage of trends that would be beneficial to put out there to your consumers.

Choosing The Platform

Depending on your target audience, choosing your platform is important. If you have done market research previously, use the research to implement the most effective way to reach them. Platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube are widely used and easy to use. Use the platform that is going to engage with the specific group of consumers you are targeting based on what they use most. Along with choosing a specific platform, posting at an optimal time of day or specific day of the week is also a key factor that plays into engagement.

As social media continues to grow and society is using it more and more to communicate, using short-form videos will elevate your content and increase your engagement.
